KEVIN THON

Kevin has been playing guitar (mostly classical) and making sounds forever. He’s reluctant to using the terms “guitarist” and “vocalist”, living together with professional flamenco guitarist and vocalist Bettina Flater.  “She likes our music, but also loves to make fun of all our studio equipment and the fact that we have more guitars than fans”.  They have two sons, Liam and Aiden.

Kevin works as an IT (Oracle) Consultant when not doing daddy and SLOW stuff. Current hobbies are “trying” to draw like the old masters and photography

STIAN VILMING (02.03.1962 - 06.09.2025)

Stian was the kindest guy—always there. Not someone who made much of himself, but he made much. My best friend.
He started on bass at fifteen, picked up guitar at seventeen, and played in bands ever since. Over time he turned his apartment building into a small studio—Studio VilmingThon—where most of SLOW was recorded. The neighbors didn’t always love our hours (“the guy downstairs sometimes pulled the fuse—unplugged sessions, haha”).
As the years went by he became the organized one—structured, careful, keeping our files, mixes, and versions safe. If it had been left to me, a lot of SLOW might have gone missing; because of him, it didn’t.
Outside the music he was an engineer, a Solution Architect at NetNordic. He didn’t get to play bass or wander the Norwegian wilderness as much as he wanted, but he showed up for people—he even photographed my brother’s wedding. He leaves two kids, Marte and Sondre.

Hvil i fred, gamle ørn.
